I remember playing Centipede with an Atari computer, and Super Breakout, and sometimes Pole Position. I couldn't steer the car with the joystick, but I loved Super Breakout for the mindless monotony. I liked Centipede except for the fleas that dropped and made more bumpers for the crawling centipede to wind around.
I also played a computer came called Zork, but I never made it all the way through the game. My cousin beat it, and offered me a map to get past the part where I always got stuck (by the babbling brook: I never figured out what it was trying to say) but he lived far away and by the time we got together, I wasn't all that interested anymore. But I learned to type with that game; I played it every day after school!
I also played a game called Droll, I think. There was a princess to save somewhere in the game but I only played to about the third level.
We did eventually get a Nintendo and I played Super Mario 2 all the way to the end, but that's the only game I've ever beaten. I liked to be the princess because she could fly. I played Link (the Zelda with the golden cartridge) up to the last castle, but always got lost and died there.
