take two

I can't figure out how to access the blog I created in class. So I'll start again...still trying to figure out this Second Life stuff. I can't get the hang of moving around, walking with the arrow keys and turning around, and the program really slows my computer to a crawl.
My first try on the orientation island was odd. As I was changing my appearance, a French guy tried to talk to me, but didn't speak any English. After a few attempts to converse, I was still primarily trying to change my appearance, I noticed his character seemed to be attempting to grope my tail! Later, I noticed an exchange between him and another player that said something about a 'stupid American'. That was rather annoying, and it hasn't gotten any easier for me to play, either.
